Patient Participation Group

Scartho PPG

Scartho Medical Centre's Patient Participation Group (PPG) is a forward thinking and proactive group, which currently consists of 3 levels of membership.

Our group meets bi-monthly, and all patients are welcome to apply to join the PPG, although at times we do have limited physical membership places available.

How Much Time Would I Have to Give?

The simple answer is as much as you would like to. Some members just come to the meetings that are held bi-monthly whilst others spend time in the surgery talking to patients. It is up to you.

Is My Opinion Valued?

Yes, without doubt. The Patient Participation Group has direct access to raise concerns with the management of the Practice, and at times a Doctor and other members of the practice team attend the meetings. The Practice is fully committed in listening to patients views.

What Has The Group Achieved?

The group was at the forefront of discussing and implementing the introduction of the Clinical Pharmacists' pilot, and supporting and promoting the Carer's agenda. These are just 2 positive contributions the Group has made.

Others in recent months have included supporting the practice with patient surveys, health campaigns and assisting patients with Patient Online and e-Summary Care Records information and sign-up.

Membership

If you would like to get involved with the PPG but cannot attend the meetings we have other membership options available in the form of virtual and armchair membership:

Physical Membership

These members attend regular bi-monthly meetings and review the main business of the PPG.

Virtual Membership

Minutes of meetings plus any other relevant information will be sent to members who will then feed back any views or comments by email to the surgery or PPG Chairperson.

Armchair Membership

Minutes and any other relevant information will be sent either via email or paper copy (patient has the choice) with no requirement to feedback.

If you would like to join the PPG, you can download the expression of interest form as a pdf document, print it out, complete it and return it to the practice. Alternatively, please request a copy from reception.

We will be in touch shortly after we receive your form. Please note that no medical information or questions will be responded to.

Activities

The PPG has an annual workshop, where topics of interest are discussed and an annual PPG action plan is developed.

Patient Survey

The Practice performs an annual patient survey, to hear the views from our patients, between 1st August - 31st October every year.

We are very grateful to all patients who take the time to give us feedback on the services we provide.
